Millions of years ago, at least 16 species of dinosaurs and a myriad of other creatures from the paleo world roamed what is now Thailand.
And Phu Kum Khao, a hill in Sahatsakhan district, holds the largest deposit of dinosaur fossils in Southeast Asia. At one of the area's several excavation sites, seven fossilised skeletons of sauropods were found at the same spot!
Other than the digging sites, another attraction of Phu Kum Khao is its new dinosaur fossil museum where visitors soak up a wealth of knowledge about these giant reptiles and other lifeforms that once thrived on this part of the planet, like four-tusked elephants and sabre-toothed cats. The museum also features exciting exhibitions on geology and astrology to help visitors of all ages get a better picture of Earth's long history.
