As the temperature drops at the end of the year, the popularity of Phu Hin Rong Kla rises. The uniqueness of this park is in its rock formations: ''Lan Hin Taek'', the site which features long narrow cracks, many of which are several metres deep , and ''Larn Hin Poom'' whose terrain by the cliff is covered with thousands of rock lumps
If you come during the rainy season, you'll find many areas of the park brightened up with colourful wild flowers. Those with adventurous minds cannot pass on the opportunity to trek to waterfalls such as Namtok Romkhlao Paradon and Namtok Man Daeng.
Phu Hin Rong Kla will forever hold a place in the country's history as the stronghold of the now-defunct Communist Party of Thailand. Many of the members were students who fled from the government during 1968-1972. They built headquarters, a school, a hospital, a kitchen area, a weaving house as well as an aerator. The ruins are kept as a historical site.
